The CHIETA East London programme focused on the business development and growth of 10 female entrepreneurs in East London, offering targeted training in perfume manufacturing and business skills. Participants received the knowledge and tools to formulate and produce their own fragrances, enabling them to launch sustainable micro-enterprises and begin generating income immediately. At the end of the programme five women registered a co-op to expand their perfume business. Their co-op was selected by the Local Economic Development Department to present at the International Co-op ceremony in August.
