Celebrating Impact That Inspires Growth

In a moment that truly reflects the power of purpose-driven development, the Golden Valley Wind Farm and SAICA Enterprise Development Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Business Development Programme recently hosted a vibrant graduation ceremony on the 4th of June 2026 in Bedford, Eastern Cape, marking the culmination of a transformative 12-month journey for 8 small businesses.

The graduation created a meaningful space for connection, reflection, and celebration. More importantly, it was a reminder that at the heart of everything we do, we always celebrate the positive impact we create, because impact is what truly drives sustainable growth.

This programme went beyond business skills development; it has been a catalyst for change. Entrepreneurs were equipped not only with essential business skills, but also with the confidence, mindset, and strategic vision needed to grow resilient businesses.

Participants shared inspiring reflections:

  • Oyama Tonga (Bronzed Beauty) Expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting how the programme equipped her with valuable skills to support her long-term vision.
  • Zimkitha Ngethu (Citra Spark) Described the experience as transformative giving her a new perspective where challenges became opportunities and enabling her to truly see herself as a businesswoman.
  • Jose Horne (Gravity Gym) Emphasized how the programme helped him grow memberships, improve operations, and think strategically about long-term sustainability.

These voices reflect not just progress, but purposeful progress—the kind that uplifts individuals, businesses, and communities alike.

Celebrating Excellence and Achievement:

  • Most Jobs Created: Nombuyiselo Zinco
  • Revenue Growth & Net Profit Excellence: Zimkitha Ngethu
  • Overall Best SMME (KPI Performance): Nonkonzo Faku
  • Resilience & Agility Award: Jose Horn

These accolades highlight the drive and determination of entrepreneurs who continue to push boundaries.

Impact That Speaks

The impact of the programme is seen not only in business growth, but in the tangible progress achieved by each participating entrepreneur. 15 new jobs were created in the duration of the programme, contributing meaningfully to economic participation and community upliftment. 100% of participating MSMEs secured new business contracts, strengthening sustainability and market presence.

A cumulative turnover of R922 000 generated across all eight MSMEs and a combined net profit of R515 000 achieved, demonstrating improved financial health and performance.

These figures are more than numbers; they represent improved livelihoods, supported families, and strengthened communities. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that the graduation from the programme is not the end, but the start of a new chapter filled with opportunity.

At its core, SAICA Enterprise Development continues to champion the growth of South Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, focusing on building sustainable Black-owned businesses that create jobs and inspire economic inclusion.
