C9 Graduation (2)

Celebration of MSME Financial Excellence and Job Creation

In a joyous celebration of innovation, resilience, and entrepreneurial growth, SAICA Enterprise Development (ED) Flagship Coaching Programme Cohort 9 graduation was hosted as a dynamic virtual event, bringing together small business leaders, mentors, and stakeholders from across the country.

This cohort marked a milestone in SAICA ED’s mission to strengthen South Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by supporting the sustainable growth of Black-owned MSMEs. A total of 26 businesses successfully completed the programme, each equipped with sharper strategic direction, improved financial capabilities, and renewed confidence to scale their operations.

Driving Growth Through Financial Excellence

At the heart of the programme was a strong focus on the Financial Excellence pillar, which proved to be a game changer for participating entrepreneurs.  The programme delivered measurable economic impact, with participating businesses collectively creating 48 new jobs while achieving strong financial performance.

The average month-to-month growth rate across the cohort, recorded revenue at 37% and net profit at 92%. This is a clear reflection of greater operational efficiencies, strengthened financial management systems and adherence to sustainable business practices being adopted by the business owners on the programme.

These outcomes highlight the critical role that coaching with financial literacy and disciplined financial management play in unlocking business potential. Participants were able to refine pricing strategies, manage costs more effectively, and identify opportunities for sustainable growth—all of which contributed to stronger, more resilient enterprises.

Transformational Journeys

Throughout the programme, the integration of coaching and mentorship created a safe yet challenging environment for business owners to rethink their strategies and unlock new opportunities.

For many, the experience was transformative and participants reflected on how the programme helped shift their mindset:

“This programme gave me the space to step back and think more clearly about how to grow a real, sustainable business. It pushed me to focus on what actually drives revenue and long-term impact.” – Phumelele Korber of Four times Three SA t/a Kloset Klub.

It has equipped us with the direction needed to scale, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to the economy. The guidance from my mentor has been instrumental in accelerating our growth.” – Malusi Ngwenya owner of Dlloyd Creative Enterprises.

A Message of Purpose and Perseverance

SAICA ED CEO Annie McWalter reinforced the importance of resilience, vision, and self-belief in the entrepreneurial journey. Annie encouraged the graduates to anchor themselves in purpose, embrace setbacks as learning opportunities, and remain confident in their ability to succeed.

As Cohort 9 graduates move forward, they do so with strengthened capabilities, clearer strategies, and a deepened understanding of Financial Excellence as a cornerstone of sustainable growth. Their achievements are not only personal victories but also meaningful contributions to job creation and economic development in South Africa.
