The programme supported 10 start-up businesses to manufacture household chemical products in the Eastern Cape (Tsitsikamma Region). All participants completed the Personal Development & Digital Literacy workshops and completed Accredited New Venture Creation Skills workshops which consisted of 3-unit standards. Collectively the participants made a combined profit of R79 994,96 for July – September 2024. At the end of the 12-months programme, 10 SMME’s graduated with the ability to manufacture their own detergents, household chemicals, perfumes and generate business income.
The participants can now make their main income from their new businesses after they started the programme with no knowledge about the chemical industry and no experience to trade chemicals and now, they actively trade in various parts of the Tsitsikamma area, Gqeberha, East London and the Western Cape.
