EQUIPPING- START UP PROGRAMME
So you want to start a business, but don't know how to go about it? Well, this programme is for you.
There are 2 options available, either full-time or part-time.
Full-time
This 20 week programme covers the following:
- TECHNICAL TRAINING
This programme will take you through an introduction to pattern making, basic sewing skills, and other techniques to go about your trade. - LIFE SKILLS
These classes will teach you skills such as learning to identify your goals and use your strengths to achieve them. It also includes subjects such as how to manage your time, finances, and learning how to conduct yourself with customers and clients. - BUSINESS SKILLS
Knowing how to manage and run your business is the most important factor to it being a success. Topics covered include understanding what it means to own a company, managing your finances, costing your products or services, and budgeting. - MENTORING
At the beginning of the programme you will be assigned a mentor who will guide and support you through the process of developing your business idea to become a reality.
Part-time
This 8 week programme covers the following:
- TRAINING
A comprehensive business and life skills class that takes place one morning per week. - MENTORING
One-on-one mentoring sessions with an assigned mentor to investigate the feasibility of your business, explore opportunities and develop a business overview that you can present to a panel.
At programme completion:
Once you have completed either the full time or part time programme, you will graduate and receive a certificate.
You will then present your business idea to the Entrepreneur Selection Panel. Your mentor will help you prepare for this and will ensure that you are ready to take this step.
The Panel will then decide whether you will move into the Entrepreneur Support Programme, where you will qualify to benefit from a number of services
